Our Story

Who We Are

Robin Leigh, a restaurateur with a proven track record for success, follows four key principles: excellence, professionalism, creativity and dedication in order to create a flawless hospitality experience.

Robin was responsible for the opening of the first Nobu in Tribeca, New York in the mid 1990s and, subsequently, was responsible for managing and taking Nobu to London, Paris and Milan. Following his 5-year stint with Nobu, Robin founded and was instrumental in creating the Japanese restaurant BondSt, which celebrated its 25-year anniversary in 2024 in New York, and appeared in Sex & the City. BondSt was the first sushi brand to launch in the western world after Nobu and still stands after more than 25 years.

We are passionate about food and culture and have a deep admiration for countries that have fascinating diversity when it comes to their cuisine. “I have been lucky enough to experience the genesis of a number of world class Japanese food concepts: Nobu, BondSt, Endo (the omakase Sushi Bar at the Television Centre), Ichibuns (the award-winning Japanese super diner). When you enter these very different experiences, which all have roots from Japan, you are greeted with the words ‘Irasshaimase’ which means ‘welcome’. This generous and passionate spirit of making the consumer feel loved and appreciated is what our incredibly talented team embraces and strives for when we create exceptional hospitality concepts.
